The following is part three of a three-part interview with Major Jim McDermott, during the totality of which he discusses his two Operation Iraqi Freedom deployments - the first in 2003 as commander of Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry, part of the 4th Infantry Division; the second in 2005-2006 as an advisor to the 9th Iraqi Army Division's mechanized brigade, then later to the 1st Iraqi Motor Transportation Regiment.
