In this first of two interviews concerning his Operation Iraqi Freedom experiences, Major Charles Golek discusses his March to July 2003 service as part of the 9th Psychological Operations Battalion in which he worked as a PSYOP planner for the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force future plans operational planning team. In this interview, he discusses the drive north from Kuwait to Baghdad, his work throughout the British sector post-invasion to conduct surveys of radio stations and other media sources as part of the radio assessment team, as well as his duties as a PSYOP night battle captain for the I MEF current ops S3.
