The deployment of the HHC/FSC Engineer Battalion proved that the National Guard continues to be a significant contributor to the Global War on Terrorism. The lO5th Engineer battalion would be challenged with one of the most dangerous missions on the face of this planet. Every single day, our Route Clearance Patrols would clear routes in Afghanistan and insure freedom of movement for coalition forces, as well as the Afghan people. The dedication and hard work undoubtedly saved lives. Task Force Thor's monumental accomplishments coupled with returning all Soldiers safely to their loved ones, made this deployment. the most memorable and fulfilling of my military career.
