I served as the Senior Medical Non Commissioned Officer (NCO) for the Georgia Army National Guard Medical Command (MEDCOM) between the years of 2001 through 2007. During the early months of 2004, my commander and I received orders from the Mobilization Operations Command (MOC) to provide medical clearance for soldiers processing to Iraq. The Medical Command worked diligently to process more than 3000 Georgia 48th Brigade Soldiers for this mission. This paper explains how MEDCOM was organized, trained, and provided resources to make the mission possible.
