This paper describes some of the challenges and lessons learned as our HHB J-12IFA, merged as an Infantry Company for deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The paper discusses many of the learning curves of the transformation, and ultimate mission of a Security Force Company at Camp Virginia, Kuwait. The integration into an existing Infantry Battalion, that was short one Company of Soldiers, as our Field Artillery Battalion was sent in many different directions. Ultimate acceptance into the new Battalion, establishing ourselves as a creditable Company, and dealing with a relatively low profile mission that was very redundant in nature. The Company was a great success, but not without many Soldier issues during the deployment.
