In the early months of 1996 while assigned to Operational Detachment Alpha 316, Staff Sergeant Richard Dunstan gives his story of the different situations he and his team encountered while conducting counter-drug missions along the South Western border of Texas. This story gives an accurate account of how Special Forces teams can support Law Enforcement Agencies assigned to protect our great nation. The team will need to acquire a new set of skills and follow strict rules of engagement. This story will give Army leaders insight on how to be successful in an era where non standard missions and strict rules seem to be the order of the day for future operations.
