Today the Multiple Launched Rocket System can be counted on to deliver timely and accurate rocket and missile fires in the urban centers in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, now "New Dawn," and in the mountainous terrain of Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. This, however, was not always the case. This story, my story will chronicle a time where MLRS was undertrained, underfunded, underemployed in multi-echeloned operations, and sorely misunderstood by all except those who were directly assigned to the weapons system.
