The battalion received the brief to deploy to Afghanistan September 19, 2008. Our mission was to train, mentor, and support the Afghan national people. Due to the brigade moving into theater at different locations and time lines, we trained at various training bases to ensure we had well trained and physically fit Soldiers to carry out our mission. The mission was a great success for the battalion and the Afghan people.
