Discussion: Major General George Thomas received great amounts of credit for the Union's success at Nashville against General Thomas Hood of the Confederate Army. Many perceive this battle as the most critical battle for the North. Conclusion: Thomas was groomed to be a great leader even as a child. Success at Nashville con Counterpoint: General Hood's Army was already compromised and Thomas' planning and execution of the battle had little to do with the success of the North.
