During combat operations, getting answers from detainees can create ethical dilemmas that in turn have detrimental effects on soldiers and officers alike. Members of all professions are faced with ethical dilemmas daily. The ability to map out resolutions instantaneously is confounded for the soldiers of an army at war as they continue to define their relevancy in a combat zone. The individual confronted with the absolute barbarity of an asymmetric enemy is expected to rely on institutional socialization and core values as his/her only decisional way of transitioning when confronted with a moral or ethical challenge.
