Today's Army is characterized by increased operational tempo and simultaneous operations around the globe. In this environment, increased stress levels can easily lead to poor decisions. As leaders, we must be fully aware of this potential problem and take necessary actions to mitigate the risks. It is unrealistic to believe that we can totally eliminate unethical behavior, but through dedication and leadership we can drastically reduce the frequency and severity of these occurrences. We already have the basic framework necessary to accomplish this; the Army Values.
