Thesis Statement: The incorporation of airmobile operations into our combat structure led to decisive victories in Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, and Haiti. Discussion: Air mobile operations have contributed significantly in all conflicts. The successful integration of aviation assets as a force projection platform is greatly appreciated by all battlefield commanders. Conclusion: The Army Aviation community is well prepared to continue as the premier aviation force in the world. The continued transformation program is proof that the current state of affairs will continue to guarantee decisive victories on any battlefield, regardless of any shortcomings. Counterpoint: The Army Aviation platforms have too many shortcomings that inhibit their performance as a force multiplier. Elements such as inclement weather, different terrain features, and susceptibility to ground weapons systems will impede successful deployment of all aviation assets.
