The Philippine Insurrection was the beginning and end of America's efforts to become an imperialistic nation. The country had expanded to its furthest most boundaries and was looking for fresh markets and resources. America would come to find that it did not have the stomach to fight the battle necessary to colonize after fighting the Philippine people. The cost and glamour of imperialism would fade.
