Outline: Is it important for military professionals to take time out of their busy schedules to study military history? If so, why? If not, why not? In your analysis, be sure to provide at least three examples from issues discussed in H100 that support your position. In your conclusion, be sure to address how (or whether) a better understanding of the past can prepare Soldiers for the challenges that lie ahead. Thesis Statement: I consider it very important for military professionals to study military history. The knowledge of military history will significantly enhance a leader's ability to execute the decision making process. A leader's awareness of mistakes made during the execution of past military missions will enable them to use that knowledge in order to select alternate courses of action for future missions. We must closely examine our past military history and properly apply our lessons learned so that we may secure the future effectiveness of the military and preserve the countless freedoms Americans enjoy today.
