The factors of education, responsibility, and competence exist regarding the ever-increasing empowerment of the American noncommissioned officer (NCO). Now more than ever NCOs have obtained a great deal of empowerment throughout the years, though it is a very difficult task to select three "most important" reasons for NCO empowerment. However, these three traits that I have chosen are the NCO empowerment that develops a competent and agile NCO. These factors that empower the NCO have proved to the officer corps in the Army that the NCO of today is more than just a doer, and they are trusted in many areas that cross into the areas of command responsibility that in the past that was charged to the officer corps.
