The use of Actionable Intelligence on the battlefield has directly led to the success of the United States Army in both the Battle of Vera Cruz Mexico, 1914 and the Invasion of Afghanistan in 2001. The United States Army has always depended on reliable intelligence to plan and execute the plans and directives of the battlefield commander. Without reliable intelligence planning would be impossible. The intelligence gathering techniques have changed over time with the implementation of technology. The end result is a more lethal and reliable force of the Army of today.
