Is the study of military history important? The history of the United States of America is rich with military examples of both successes and failures. One may argue that studying mistakes is futile while others will argue that we learn from our mistakes. I intend to present information on counterinsurgency operations in Vietnam, Desert Storm, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. I am certain that by showing the connections between insurgency operations, I will prove that the study of history is not only important it is crucial.
