It is important for military leaders to understand what took place all those years ago on distant battlefields. Taking the time out of an already busy schedule to read anything that deals with the past is hard for many leaders to comprehend. Leaders can learn from what other leaders have done in the past. Looking at the success and failures of past military leaders and campaigns can shape a successful team to accomplish the missions of the United States Army.
