History provides durable blueprints: "what to do," and sometimes, more importantly, "what not to do." In the end, each lesson can be summed in one word: preparation. As long as warfare exists, its principles, leadership, strategy, and beliefs makes it relevant for every modern Soldier. These principles are imbedded through historical study. Modern Soldiers in turn will become a part of history, and the cycle will continue.
