The future battlefield will likely have an enemy with strong ideologies using terroristic tactics for their cause to defeat globalization. In order to defeat this future enemy the U.S. military must overcome fundamental obstacles they have faced in the past countering the achievement of combat readiness. I will identify these root factors, focusing on training management being the primary factor, military leaders are challenged with today describing one example of a combat operation where effective combat readiness led to mission success and another example where unpreparedness led to significant challenges for the to overcome. The conclusion will support the argument that the U.S. military has overcome these fundamental obstacles today and are achieving force readiness at historical levels prepared for any enemy they may face throughout the world.
