In your conclusion, be sure to address how (or whether) a better understanding of the past can prepare Soldiers for the challenges that lie ahead. The study of military history is important for the professional Soldier. With proper research and analysis, the professional Soldier will be better able to understand the battlefield and the factors that influence the outcome, possibly avoiding the pitfalls that his predecessors experienced in previous conflicts.
