This paper covers an ethical dilemma I experienced while assisting another senior Non-Commissioned Officer in administering a height and weight measurement on an Officer. The actions of the officer caused the unnamed person to be in a position of a serious ethical dilemma. As I replayed the event in my mind, I realized that the situation would have been totally different had the individual been an enlisted Soldier. The officer was a member of my unit, which played a major part in the cause of the dilemma. The question often arises, do officers get special treatment or are they treated less favorably than enlisted Soldiers?
