U.S. Army recruiter improprieties are on the rise since the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) began in September, 2001. The improprieties range from concealing information to engaging in consensual sex with recruits. Many recruiters contribute the improprieties to the pressures of achieving the U.S. Army recruiting goals. Recruiters are fighting an uphill battle, its getting harder and harder to find potential and qualified recruits. Recruits are being influenced by parents and friends not to enlist. Recruiters are taking short cuts and violating regulations to achieve the mission and avoid undue pressure from higher headquarters.
