Leaders of today's Army must be able to operate efficiently in a complicated environment. Ethical decisions are made every day on Army installations and in military units across the globe. I believe an ethical issue the Army faces today is what our leaders do, what actions they take, when confronted with an ethical dilemma. Do leaders always do the right thing? I believe for the most part we do, but to say "always do the right thing", no, we don't. Some issues will be external to the inner self of a leader; such as misuse of a government vehicle. No action taken on such an issue may adversely affect the psychological state of mind of a leader. However, in most cases, a leader having knowledge of abuse of authority, sexual misconduct, and various other events that directly affect the welfare of Soldiers and the integrity of the unit, will take appropriate action. I believe decisions are made based on several factors. Most of the decision making factors will be based on a leader's character, morals, values, upbringing, and professional military development.
