Regulations and field manuals governs the Army. Anything we do while wearing the uniform is measured by assigning it a task, conditions, and standard. Being professional and disciplined is what separates us from civilians. Leadership drives the Army and having a leader who follows the moral and ethical rules can only lead his/her unit to success. The Army has been plagued by numerous unethical decisions, which has caused it to be frowned upon by society and members within its own ranks. The unethical situation that I will address in my paper still continues to plague the Army to this day, as recent as current operations in support of the Global War on Terrorism. The unethical situation is the issuing of unlawful combat orders.
