The purpose of this paper is to outline the belief that the profession of a military warrior is not always conducive to the married lifestyle. A delicate balance of priorities and dedications exists with this relationship. The Army in particular has a need that adds to those stressors of being married and in the military, longer deployments. Several contributors result in periods of separation throughout a Soldiers career, and this is especially true during the current war on terror. Longer deployments may add to the ever growing divorce rate of the U.S. Soldier.
