The United States Army is governed/ruled by rules and regulations, Soldiers have to obey and abide by them. The Uniformed Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) is our military bible when Soldiers fail to conform to the norms; NCOs are the first stop before a Soldier gets to see the Commander. NCOs are the Soldier's mentor and they should be able to asses the situation and properly counsel their Soldier with their recommendations before he/she sees the Commander. Some NCOs fail to understand that every Soldier serving in the United States Army is a human being and a human being does make mistakes. Our Soldiers are a reflection of our leadership, I have witnessed NCOs treating their Soldiers badly and I have made on the spot corrections because we treat every Soldier with dignity and respect. Ethical dilemma occurs every day in our society and the military is not an exception, we deal with ethical dilemmas on a daily basis and we have to do the right thing for our Army. Ethics is the discipline dealing with what is good and bad and with moral duty and obligation; a set of moral principles or values; a theory or system of moral values (the present-day materialistic ethic); plural but singular or plural in construction: the principles of conduct governing an individual or a group (professional ethics); a guiding philosophy.
