The Army's new promotion system to the rank of Sergeant Major is just not fair but in my opinion completely unethical. When I began my career in the Army almost 20 years ago, I was under the belief that advancement to higher rank would be fair. Now that the Army has decided to change the system, myself along with hundreds of other Senior NCOs are being pushed to the side with no regard as to whether we will have the opportunity to advance to the next higher rank.
