Thesis: Numerous stressors caused by the high operational tempo effects the decisions made by otherwise intelligent NCO's. Abstract: The ethical dilemma is nothing new to the non-commissioned officer. Since the beginning of the Army Soldiers faced tough decisions. The purpose of this paper is to examine one situation involving a senior non-commissioned officer and how an intelligent Soldier can get distracted. The high operational tempo and the fast-paced life of today's non-commissioned officer can lead to situations that are seemingly simple but when you peel back the onion there are serious consequences for both the individual and the unit. The chain-of command and its actions during these situations can have a tremendous impact on every Soldier in the unit.
