Thesis: Homosexuals should be allowed in the military because they are American citizens. Sexual preference should not determine the individual right to serve in the military. Abstract: There has been a huge debate whether homosexuality would cause significant problems in the military if they serve openly. Homosexuals should be allowed to serve openly in the military because they are people too. Sexual preference should not determine if one should be allowed to serve their country. The "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy needs an overhaul. Homosexuals should be allowed to serve. Policies should be put in place to allow homosexuals to serve openly, along with regulatory guidelines being established for homosexuals to follow.
