Drugs are a threat to our nation's security. The military has been task to help combat the war on drugs. The Department of Defense developed a drug strategy and established the goals and objectives. To be effective in the drug war a certain number of troops are needed and many military organizations will have to play key roles. The National Guard, Joint Task Force-6, and Special Operation are really involved. Since our troops are engaged all over the world troop support and resources are limited. The Army's will continue to play a vital role in this war on drugs that has no end in sight.
