The two pillars of the National Security Strategy create a clear objective for our nation to defeat its enemies. The first pillar promotes democracy and works to end tyranny. The idea of ending tyranny gives our military clear objectives to engage governments that oppress their people and attack free nations. The second pillar addresses our nation's response plan to the threat of pandemic disease, human trafficking, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and natural disasters. The response of the nation must provide protection for American people and their interest; as well as/and sets the groundwork for future peace. Prioritizing the events of both pillars is a delicate balance our leaders may obtain.
