The United States Military is the most well equipped and trained force to deal with the war on drugs. We must take the threat of illegal drugs attacking the very fiber of our nation as serious a threat to our national security, as weapons of mass destruction. The drug Cartels pump this poison into our nation from abroad. Drug Cartels funnel money to terrorist organizations throughout the world, thus linking the war on drugs to the war on terrorism. Current laws place limitations on how the military can support this mission on United States soil. Taking these laws into consideration, we still need to fight this war with every available asset. Losing this war is not an option. Thesis Statement: The United States Military conducting law enforcement operations raises public concerns about the legal ramifications on the war on drugs at home and abroad. Should the United States Military play an integral part in the war on drugs?
