Germany, Italy, France, and the United Kingdom make up the bulk of the European Defense Force. Seventeen years have passed since the collapse of the Soviet Union and the fall of the Berlin Wall. Many within the United States of America (U.S.A.) and Europe have questioned the need for continued U.S. military involvement in Europe. Today, Europe's economy is considered one of the most powerful economies in the world. Even by participating in the United Nations and the European Union, and having a current strength of 1.1 million Soldiers, Germany, Italy, France, and the United Kingdom still requires the United States military assistance, concerning the security of Europe.
