Thesis: Although the United States is currently superior with its laser weapon capabilities, historical conflicts and possible technological advancements of our adversaries dictates the necessity for continuous research and funding. One nation's weapon technological advantages prompted other nations to develop weapons to counteract them. For this reason, the United States must maintain its superiority by investing in the best weapons that money can buy to protect its citizens, national interest and military advantage. Laser weapons are the best weapons that money can buy. Although it may be expensive to produce laser weapon systems, their use in military operations is far more economical. Laser technology is the wave of the future for weapon systems not just for our military forces but also our allies and our enemies.
