During the course of this paper I will discuss our current and past policy with our allies of Muslim nations and how the relationship changes depending on our interest. I will look at the decisions of two Presidents both with different views and how their policy affected the enemy. There are those in our country who believe that we should have never attacked Iraq or any other Muslim nation in response to their sponsorship of terrorism. There are people who believe we should not use our influence to promote democracy in a part of the world that has only known rule from a dictatorship. In a part of the world where there is no democracy and very little human rights how do our leaders decide whom to consider allies and who is the enemy. I will look at the apparent impact of tacking no decisive action and taking the fight to the places where we believe the enemy lives and conducts operation.
