Actionable military intelligence gained at the expense of local populace trust using torture is a short term solution that results in inconsistent actionable intelligence and long term strategic mission failure. Torture is a desperate act to compensate the failure of intelligence collection to acquire information to justify performing military operations. Degrading human dignity is fundamentally wrong utilizing torture to gain information which essentially destroys human morality which leads to further violence and death.
