In the United States, politics is primarily dominated by two political parties; the Republicans and the Democrats. They wage political warfare on one another every election year, and the time leading up to it. But, not everyone in the country agrees with the two party system. A group of people wanted to see change in the way that the government is run. They wanted to see high ethical standards for people in government, term limits, new tax codes, a balanced budget, and start electoral reform. This new party, founded by H. Ross Perot in 1995, called themselves the Reform Party (The Columbia Encyclopedia, Sixth Edition). The Reform Party has a unique political platform, key founding leaders, and a strategy for the 2000 campaign race.
