Enlisted and officer marriages became a very touchy situation during the late 1990's. AR600-20 was changed to ensure officer and enlisted marriages were not condoned and securing an atmosphere of decline. This situation has changed the military forever. The approach was direct and to the point. In retrospect was this a regulation the Army really needed to change?
