The desire for empowerment has been a staple for encouragement for Noncommissioned Officers; NCO's really do not need anything more than initiative to influence their Soldiers to accomplish their mission. That was in earlier generations of the Army, today's NCO Corps does not have the drive, initiative, desire and the tools to coach, mentor or teach the future Soldiers of the Army.
