Reforming our healthcare system is one of the most important issues of our time and I believe President Obama is correct to address this issue. Reformation of our current health care system is both a moral and economic issue. I believe it is immoral for a nation as prosperous as ours to have nearly 46 million of its citizens uninsured and millions more with insurance and healthcare they can barely afford. Additionally, the rising cost of health insurance and healthcare in general will push more people out of the system creating more uninsured, further driving up costs and placing a huge burden on our overall economy. Our healthcare system needs to be reformed and it should be reformed now rather than later. I believe the difficulty in healthcare reform is determining what reform should consist of and what kind of healthcare system we should have. It is not my intent to propose a healthcare system or a plan for reform but state the case for immediate reform.
