Soldiers have changed and evolved since the days of the Colonial Army. The Army ability to look back in the past continues to improve today Army. The development of the noncommissioned officer was critical in this process. Fundamentally the noncommissioned officer responsibilities increased over time due to changes in our military focus. There are several key things that has caused the empowerment of the non-commissioned officer, this paper will focus on the past history of the NCO Corps that's changed and developed into what we are today.
