In light of the wars raging in Iraq and Afghanistan, the United States will need to take a serious look at its military's strengths and weaknesses. Not all of the answers for an end to war will come from new equipment, expertise or new weapons. We will need to study the history of our past to better understand the strengths and weaknesses of our military history, ensuring the future of our military's strength. In conclusion we shouldn't believe that studying military history will give us victory in future wars, but the comprehension of past wars will create a vast body of knowledge and help us to find themes that remain steady over years and in which case make the themes more predictable (Hanson, 2007).
