This paper discusses the active Soviet Army as larger than any army in Europe and a fairly efficient fighting force. Yet, it is not as well trained as the army of any other great power. Its defense would be strong on account of its great numbers. However, it is because of the political unreliability of the army. And, because of the poor economic condition in Russia will not permit the manufacture or procurement of the necessary supplies.
