It is believed that the extent to which any force may be mechanized is limited by the terrain over which the approach marches, and it is doubtful whether even six-wheelers will be able to move, since every line of approach must first be reconnoitered and then placed under some sort of traffic control. Only a definite percentage of any force is likely to be entirely mechanized due to the difficulties of maintenance and terrain, and such a force which can for a very limited time exist unsupported by a line of communication for the purpose of a special operation. The problems it brings to the ordnance and transport services will be the most difficult with which the staff and those services will have to deal.
