The purpose of this study was to determine whether active duty Army pharmacists are satisfied with their job and further, to examine factors that may uniquely effect their job satisfaction. Job satisfaction was measured using a modified four-page questionnaire originally developed and validated by Barnett and Kimberlin in 1983. Of the 140 mailed, deliverable questionnaires, 107 usable responses were received for a response rate of 79.3 percent. The data was analyzed using nonparametric statistics. The results of this study suggest that Army pharmacists are satisfied with their jobs and careers, and that job satisfaction is positively related to their clinical pharmacy training.
