A research team from the Department of the Army visited the Korean theater in the spring and summer of 1951 for the purpose of gathering information on enlisted men's combat effectiveness. These data are to be used to improve selection and classification of enlisted men for combat duty. Among the data gathered were the enlisted men's answers to five open-end questions. The first question was for identifying the respondent. Two were on evaluations of precombat training in relation to actual combat experience. The present report deals with responses to the questions on characteristics of good and poor combat behavior.
