On 27 July 1965, the Commanding General, United States Army, Hawaii, approved the establishment of the USARHAW Army Community Service Program. A command regulation formally establishing the agency was published on 30 July 1965. On 2 August 1965, the USARHAW ACS office formally opened its doors for business at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. The index provides the following information for the Army Community Service, USARHAW: the need for ACS; development of ACS in Hawaii, the advisory council; the volunteer corps, the physical plant; ACS services provided; and the future of ACS in Hawaii. Appendices include the movement of the 173d Airborne Brigade and 25th Infantry Division dependents.
