This workshop was held by the IFPA to assist CENTCOM in devising a strategy to counter the arguments of radical Islamists and to discuss the appeal of these ideologies to Muslim audiences. They convened to review possible cultural trends, faith and religion (Jihad), and pressures that would influence extremist movements. Much of the workshop was devoted to discussing the ideological roots of Islam. The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) and The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) are listed as participants.
