From 1976 annual historical review's Introduction: Under provision of the Budget Reform Act of 1974, the Government fiscal year was changed from 1 July-30 June to 1 October-30 September, effective in FY 77. The three-month period referred to as "FY 7T," 1 July-30 September 1976, bridges the gap between FY 76 and FY 77. The above historical reviews, except for the US Army SAFEGUARD Command, therefore cover the 15-month period 1 Jul 75-30 Sep 76. The US Army SAFEGUARD Command Annual Historical Review extends only to 31 Aug 76, the date on which this command was inactivated due to the termination of the SAFEGUARD BMD System.
